Sponsored Review: Misikko HANA Air Premiere Hair Dryer

When John D. from Misikko.com contacted me about doing a review for a hairdryer, I was excited! I've only ever used 2 hairdryers in my life: 1) a cheapie mini dryer from who knows where and 2) Panasonic National foldable dryer.  Obviously, I wanted to know what I'm missing out on in the dryer world.  I was sent the HANAair Premiere dryer a couple weeks back, and feel that I'm now able to comment on it.

An unexpectedly big box.

Ta-da... lots of stuff! Including a really nice note from John, cases, a stuffed monkey, sanitizers, nail files, and Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner.

But anyway, the main event is the hairdryer.

The dryer itself is not that big...

Here's a size comparison with an Aveeno lotion bottle.

Top botton: switch between cold and hot.  Middle: general on/off and for cold, levels 1 and 2. Bottom: for hot, levels 1 and 2.

Here's some stats - the dryer is made in Korea, and has 1700W of power.

The back... I'm not sure how the rest of these photos will help you, but whatever!

The front-end. (There's got to be a technical word for this.)

There's a loop at the end of the handle, which I don't use.

OK, so here's my hair, fresh out of the shower.  I don't use any products in my hair.

Dried with HANAair.

Dried with my Panasonic National dryer.

So, there's not much difference.  In terms of drying time, it's about the same - I think it's because the "hot" mode isn't as hot as my dryer, but the air blows out faster.  It's pretty fun to use this dryer, because it feels like I'm in the middle of a storm - my hair just goes everywhere! Afterwards, I'm left with quite a bit of volume, which settles down to normal after a few minutes.

The Misikko site is easy to use, but the one thing that bothers me is that their customer reviews section is screened: "Reviews are subject to approval".  This may be an effort to prevent spamming on their site, but it'd be better if Misikko would disclose their reason for screening.  Lastly, John D. would like me to include a couple links to the flat irons and hair dryers available on Misikko.

OVERALL:  3/5.  This is a solid hair dryer, but it's priced at $194.99 at Misikko.com, which way more than I would spend on a hair dryer.  It is very easy to use, quite lightweight, and should travel well. Thank you, John, for letting me try this dryer.  : )
